Performing in the gallery, “Inferno Varieté: Masculinity, Homophobia and other Violences” contains radical queer activism and body art that questions the relationship between violence and masculinity.
Felipe Ernesto Osornio Panini better known as LECHEDEVIRGEN TRIMEGISTO’S (MEXICO) (Querétaro, Mexico, 1991) is a significant representative of the queer and post-porn Latin American scene. He is a visual and performance artist focused on topics such as severe chronic illness, the sick body, pagan religions, violence and homophobia.
He holds a degree in Visual Arts from the Faculty of fine Arts of the Autonomous University of Querétaro and was a beneficiary in the Program for Stimulating Artistic Development and Creation (PECDA) 2014, and Program for Support Artistic Production (APOYARTE) 2016. He is a current student of the Master’s Degree in Contemporary Art and Visual Culture.
He has presented his work at international performance art festivals such as Performatorium Festival of Queer Performance (2016), Buzzcut Performance Festival (2016), Rapid Pulse International Performance Art Festival (2015), Mexican Barricade Trobada Permática (2014) and First National Exhibition of Performance Denial and Utopia (2013), among others in countries like Spain, England, Scotland, Italy, United States, Canada and Mexico. His work has been featured in art exhibitions at Norway, Finland, Chile, Argentina, Nicaragua, Peru, Colombia and Guatemala.
