YOLANDA BENALBA (SPAIN). She was born in Valencia (Spain), in the bosom of a family of fishermen. From childhood she observes in his mother and grandmother unequal relations between women and men in the workplace and other areas of reality, as home. That’s why her works emerge from a deep introspection addressing gender, family and notions of fragility, violence and intimacy. Materials from the everyday are subverted through performance and sound art to question the boundaries of public, private and intangible space and to open up other possibilities of space.
